Test Point Selector

TPS MS & TPS SL

The CLEARPath Test Point Selector (TPS) provides remote monitoring of any test point in a headend or hub. This 16:1 intelligent switcher routes RF signals from selected test points to a signal monitoring device (such as a spectrum analyzer or bit error rate tester). A master TPS (Model TPS-MS) can be daisy-chained to up to three slave TPS units (Model TPS-SL) to form a 64 input TPS Station. In turn, the outputs of 64 TPS Stations can be connected to the inputs of another TPS Station, thus allowing virtually unlimited expandability. Headend personnel can switch to a particular test point or to a sequence of test points through either the CLEARPath CIM or Locator software running on a PC using a direct connection to the TPS. Alternatively, a particular test point can be selected manually by activating controls on the TPSs front panel. For remote operation of a TPS located in the cable network, the PC running the TPS Control Software is connected to an Electroline Control Unit IV that addresses the TPS via an RF FSK control signal over the cable network.
