Compact Portable Signal and Sweep Generator

The Maxcom MX-RFSG1800 signal generator is a simple low-cost device used to inject RF signals up to 1800 MHz into RF plant for the purpose of verifying those high frequencies are able to properly pass-through cables, passive and active devices.

It presents a fast and simple tool for creating RF test signals. Commonly used by CATV field and headend technicians where systems are beginning to upgrade their RF plant to 1000 MHz, 1200 MHz and even 1800 MHz.

The device is a highly integrated RF signal / sweep generator specifically designed for Cable Telecommunication Technicians working in the HFC environment. Its small size, portability and battery power can easily assist the technician to quickly identify network issues when performing network bandwidth upgrades, equipment, or plant performance and proofing.

Applications:

• For plant verification
• Used in conjunction with existing meters:

    • Viavi ONX 620 and 630

    • XM2 meter

    • Devisor

    • Any other meter that will generate a peak hold to see full spectrum

• Use in spectrum analyzer mode
• Inject signals from 700 MHz up to 1800 MHz

    • Frequency Agile – user selects frequency range desired

• Used to identify potential problems in plant such as:

    • Old generation taps

    • Old generation splitters

    • Amplifier modules that have not been upgraded

    • Bad cable segments

    • Bad connectors
