Harmonic’s cOS platform provides unified support for XGS-PON, EPON, COMBO-PON, DOCSIS 3.1, and DOCSIS 4.0, allowing operators to seamlessly manage both fiber and coaxial networks. This convergence facilitates the launch of 10G fiber services over existing coax infrastructures and ensures compatibility with third-party optical network terminals (ONTs) and optical network units (ONUs).
The platform's virtualized core software reduces the need for physical hardware in headend and hub sites, significantly cutting space, power, and cooling costs. High-density deployment options, such as outdoor cabinets and hardened nodes, further enhance network capacity while minimizing construction and maintenance expenses.
